I have absolutely no idea what protocol they use. They are IBM 3090's and
Amdahl 580's. I have the demo rexx programs for file transfer that I got
with VLT but I can';t find anything at work to initiate the transfer. I can't
get any help from the people at work cause they don't think the Amiga is
a REAL computer and have no idea of what to do. I guess I'll just have to
wait for the IRMA board that due from GVP i think. That ought to take care
of it.

Title: Spotted Amiga
>> This message has 1 reply
A friend of mine was watching Ch.8 Saturday and said he saw on Computer
Chronicals that COMMORDORE had something coming out soon. From what he
was telling me it sounded like the "Toaster" but he said that it was not
a hardware device, so I asked if it was "Amiga Vision", and he said no, that
that it has not yet been released. Any idea of what he was talking about?

Yes O-putrid pundit, you will now be forced to consume ENTIRE meals prepared

I also have very good information verifying the fact that unless you cease &

those of IBM and that Amy could do things right out of the box that it would
takes lots of extra gadgets and $$$ to emulate on Big Blue, it ssems that
since they already had the thing sitting around it had to have a home in

re: had to rewrite the software
C'mon. You expect us to believe that? First, most people who release
shareware don't release the source unless you register it first. Many don't
even release it then.
Second, and this may come as a surprise to you, shareware is, by definition,
copyrighted. If this 'Craig' really did rewrite it, he violated certain
copyright laws in doing so.
I personally think that if there were any serious bugs in Hermes' BBS then he
would have found them and corrected them long ago. Hermes himself runs his
own BBS (in Atlanta, I think). I would imagine he would know if it wasn't
working.

Better!! A whopping 10Mhz 286. comes in two models:
Mono VGA and a 1.44Mb FD. -- $999
Color VGA 30Mb HD and 1.44 FD -- $1999
Both include a crippled version of DOS4.01 in ROM. Built in VGA, no upgrades
here. And here's the kicker. The computers power supply in built into the
monitor. So even if there is a way to upgrade resoulution you stuck with the
same montior forever (or at least somewhere on your desk).

Ah, the Hermes defender....
Yes, Frank did run a Hermes support board, then took it down, then put it back
up.
Yes, there is a backdoor that's been decompiled and investigated in Hermes.
No, he has never showed any desire to release the source code.
And finally, parsimonious penis, there are TONS of bugs in Hermes that he's
never even looked at. Now that you see you have no leg to stand on, take a

You may be a bright guy, but you're also gullible. Craig does not have the
computer acumen to rewrite that program. He likes to think so, though. He
"helped" Robocop with the same software; Robocop had to ask someone else to
straighten out the mess. Which leads me to suspect that Craig, himself,
screwed it up.
By the way, I saw on Gallapagos that someone believes that the District
Attorney's Office is investigating Craig for somethingorother. Anybody here
know anything about it? I don't.

You have your "facts" so wrong in so many ways, they defy all logic. I've
read both sides on Citadel. Bear is anything but a flunky. Brian may not be
a "great Guy", I don't really know; but he is trying to run a certain type of
board, under the NAMU umbrella, which dictates certain requirements. Thus, he
makes some people angry, those who choose not to follow some mild restraint.
Yes, Craig did request those files "because I am a sysop" (his exact words.
No, Brian did not call the 15-year-old; I did. For that person's protection,
not mine, I'm not going to discuss the reasons and actions taken in regard to
that call. (for the record, I believe the kid was 16). His parents, by the
way, also were involved, to a greater extent than I. Brian did not start
making "wild accusations", and still doesn't. Others have made accusations,
and Brian and I have confirmed many of them. No, this thing started by Craig
threatening to "destroy" several boards, stealing a teenage girl's password
and calling her home, terrifying her. I spoke to the girl, and her family,
myself. I've also spoken to several teenage young men, who have been harrassed
by him. Then, there's the case of his "recording" sexy conversations with a
woman, then showing them to another, who threatened to post them. This has
been admitted to.
These are eye- and ear-witnessed facts, Vengie, not gossip. Although, with
the amount of gossip going on, including the lastest having to do with the
District Attorney (not Attorney General)....well, where there's smoke.....as
someone said recently.

More like trying to monopolize the market like they tried to do with the PS/2.
The PS/1's design forces people to use the PS/1 monitor, expansion chasis,
ect.. And just like the PS/2 people and compaines are going to tell IBM what
they can do with themselves.

My answer...
4) None of the Above. I use two different terminal programs, one for calling
SpiceNet systems with my Commodore 128 (where else do you get real time
animation and music online?) called MusicTerm and one for my Amiga (good ole
JRComm). My vote for which would be better is a combination of the two.
And of course, I am prejudiced regarding terminal programs, as I run one of
the aforementioned SpiceNet systems. But I don't harrass users or other
sysops, have no desire to, and would really rather not see any more petty
mudslinging by either side in the current BBS scandal being thrown in our
faces. Thank you, and good night.

I probbably was not very clear in my post, so here goes again. I 'Only' saw
the Computer. I didn't see it in operation, too bad. But any Amiga exposure is
good. BTW, Last evening I saw a NewsWeek Mag. dated Nov. 6, 1989 with a 6 page
full color Ad. Wish they would do that again ..... It was really well done. If
any one is intrested I can scan the ads in and Upload them as IFF pics. Let me
know.

Time travel itself is predicated mostly on the idea of a river or stream of
unidrectional movement with "us" as raft on that stream. Rivers have bben
known to reverse direction and two physicists who ought to know ( Richard
Feinman and Stephen Hawking) both came up with independant mathmatical proofs
of tachyon particles. They age as they deccelerate in relation to other
active particles. What I ahve read suggests that they are actually moving
backwards in time. I will reserve judgement untill I get my time machine out

>> Reply to message 33
I see I'm wasting my time, Tom. You're obviously buying the Brian story with
the best of them. In fact, I'd say you're responsible for fabricating most of
it. If this is the same 15-or-16-year old kid we're talking about, then you
are Tom Coleman and you are a shm0e from hell. This guy did nothing to your
board and you called him up and scared the crap out of him. Why? That's
totally pointless. As for my logic defying all reason, you and I both know
that's not true. The cases you are referring to are fabricated - there were
wierd people calling his system, but he never called any of them. Notice the
conspicuous lack of proof you have - it's never appeared anywhere. As for
Craig threatening to destroy boards, you and I know once again that's more
lies. Give it up, Jack, it's a waste of everyone's time. Stick to the facts,
not the fabrication.

I have no credibility? Your credibility relies on your ability to find a
typo. You honestly think that I don't know the difference? Are you that
naive or just an egregious jerk? I think the latter.
I can easily recognize the bugs in Hermes. Know of a system named The
Buzzard's Nest II? Guess who hangs out over there and schmoozes with the
sysop? Guess who ran a Mac WWIV BBS and tried an experimental Hermes system
in the early days? Guess who has called a hell of a lot of Hermes boards and
played around with them?
Give it up. You're pathetic. For someone who considers himself intelligent,
you are the weakest example I've ever seen. Get a new attitude and a grip on

My question is: The Amerikans are not stupid. They can't have missed the
fact that Kennedy was not slain by Oswald. Is the truth so unbearable that

My guess is that the Cubans or Russians got fingered, and the committee
